The Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Dr. Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, has reaffirmed his commitment to fostering peace, unity and inclusive governance as he joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Distinguished Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, on a consultation and familiarization visit to the Egba League of Imams and Alfas.

The visit formed part of Senator Adeola's ongoing statewide engagements with critical stakeholders ahead of the 2027 governorship election, aimed at strengthening relationships, receiving constructive feedback and presenting his vision for a more prosperous Ogun State.

The meeting with the revered Islamic clerics provided an avenue for meaningful dialogue on issues affecting the state, particularly the need for sustained peace, religious harmony, good governance and people-centred development.

Speaking after the engagement, Hon. Dr. Oyegbola-Sodipo described the visit as another significant step in deepening trust and collaboration between political leadership and religious institutions, noting that the wisdom and prayers of religious leaders remain indispensable to the progress of society.

"As part of his ongoing consultations and familiarization visits to critical stakeholders across Ogun State, I joined our gubernatorial candidate, Distinguished Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), as he met with the Egba League of Imams and Alfas.

"The engagement provided another valuable opportunity to interact with respected religious leaders, listen to their perspectives and reaffirm our shared commitment to promoting peace, unity, inclusive governance and sustainable development across Ogun State," Oyegbola-Sodipo stated.

He stressed that the APC governorship candidate remains committed to building an administration that prioritizes the welfare of the people, encourages broad-based participation in governance and ensures equitable development across all parts of the state.

The Abeokuta North chairman further commended the Egba League of Imams and Alfas for their continuous role in promoting moral values, peaceful coexistence and stability within their communities, describing them as indispensable partners in the collective effort to move Ogun State forward.

He expressed confidence that the consultations being undertaken by Senator Adeola would further strengthen the bond between government and the people while creating opportunities for stakeholders to contribute meaningfully to the policy direction of the next administration.

The visit concluded with prayers by the Islamic leaders for divine wisdom, guidance and peaceful coexistence in Ogun State, as well as continued progress, security and prosperity for the people.
