The Executive Chairman of Obafemi-Owode Local Government, Ambassador Adesina 'Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, has announced that the council will commence the commissioning of another round of developmental projects across the local government towards the end of August 2026, as part of efforts to improve infrastructure and the living standards of residents.
The chairman made the disclosure on Tuesday during a meeting with community leaders at his office in Owode-Egba, where he reaffirmed his administration's commitment to delivering impactful projects to every part of the council area.
According to him, the projects slated for commissioning include newly constructed classroom blocks, modern market facilities, asphalt roads, and motorised boreholes spread across various wards in the local government.
Ogunsola described the projects as a reflection of his administration's determination to provide essential infrastructure capable of stimulating economic growth, improving access to education, enhancing transportation, and expanding access to potable water for residents.
The council boss also expressed satisfaction with the remarkable progress recorded under his administration, noting that Obafemi-Owode Local Government has continued to gain national and international recognition for its developmental strides.
He particularly referenced the recent international recognition received from the Canadian Government during the Pan-African Drum Festival held in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, describing the award as a testament to the growing global profile of the council.
Rather than claiming personal credit, Ogunsola dedicated the award to prominent leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including the Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Public Works, Engr. Babatunde Adesina, and former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tunji Egbetokun, whom he acknowledged as mentors who have contributed immensely to his leadership journey.
He further dedicated the honour to all APC leaders for their continued support and confidence in his administration.
The chairman reiterated his commitment to positioning Obafemi-Owode as a destination for investment and economic development, calling on indigenes of the local government residing abroad to return home and contribute meaningfully to the growth of their communities through strategic investments and partnerships.
Ogunsola also commended Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for providing an enabling environment for development through sustained support for local governments and policies that encourage public-private partnerships.
According to him, the governor's investment-friendly policies have continued to attract development and economic opportunities to Ogun State, with Obafemi-Owode Local Government emerging as one of the major beneficiaries.
Looking ahead, the council chairman assured residents that more developmental projects were in the pipeline. He disclosed that the grading of community roads across the twelve wards of the local government would commence immediately after the rainy season to improve accessibility and ease transportation within rural and urban communities.
He reaffirmed his administration's resolve to sustain the pace of development, promising that no community would be left behind in the implementation of projects aimed at improving the welfare of the people.
The planned commissioning of the new projects is expected to further consolidate Obafemi-Owode Local Government's reputation as one of the leading performing local government councils in Ogun State, while reinforcing the administration's commitment to inclusive development and grassroots transformation.
