In a statement on Wednesday, ICPC spokesperson John Odey said the commission secured a warrant from the Federal High Court after Nnaji allegedly ignored invitation letters served to his Abuja and Enugu addresses, as well as his email.
According to the commission, Nnaji was arrested on Wednesday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, with the assistance of the Department of State Services (DSS) and transferred to ICPC custody.
The anti-graft agency said it is investigating allegations that the former minister submitted a forged degree certificate purportedly issued by the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a false National Youth Service Corps discharge certificate during his 2023 ministerial screening.
ICPC added that Nnaji is being held at its Abuja headquarters while investigations continue, assuring the public that the case will be handled in accordance with the law.
