Political tension and speculation surrounding the 2027 Ogun State House of Assembly race took a new turn on Sunday as Prince Temitope A. Kasali, popularly known as Kastopee, firmly denied reports suggesting that he had accepted a political appointment under the Ogun State Government.
In a strongly worded statement made available to journalists, the Ijebu East Constituency aspirant described the circulating reports as false and misleading, insisting that he remains fully committed to contesting for the Ogun State House of Assembly seat in 2027.
According to Kastopee, although he appreciates the confidence and goodwill reportedly extended to him by the state government, he has not accepted any appointment that could distract him from what he described as his “people-driven mission” to represent the people of Ijebu East at the legislative arm of government.
The statement comes amid growing political conversations within Ogun State over possible alignments, appointments and permutations ahead of the next election cycle. However, Kastopee maintained that his political ambition remains active and unwavering.
“No appointment has been accepted, as I remain fully committed to the race for the Ijebu East Constituency seat at the Ogun State House of Assembly,” he stated.
He further emphasized that his aspiration goes beyond politics and personal ambition, stressing that his interest in the Assembly race is rooted in a genuine desire to promote development, inclusion, youth empowerment and quality representation for the people of Ijebu East.
Political observers in the constituency have continued to describe Kastopee as one of the emerging grassroots figures within the local political structure, especially among youths and community stakeholders.
