Ruth Kadiri, the producer and actress, has urged President Bola Tinubu to address Nigeria’s worsening insecurity, warning that citizens no longer feel safe even in their own homes.

In an Instagram post shared on Wednesday, Kadiri rejected claims that public outcry over insecurity is politically motivated, insisting that innocent lives are being lost daily. “This is not a propaganda! This is not your enemies trying to make you look bad,” she wrote.

The filmmaker lamented the rising toll of killings and violence, noting that many innocent people are suffering for reasons beyond their control.

She appealed to the president to take action before the situation deteriorates further, or to grant citizens permission to defend themselves.

“Dear President Tinubu, pls do something….. Or give us the go ahead to protect our lives and properties,” she added.

“Too much death everywhere. Being a Nigerian is not even safe at home anymore.

“Too much innocent lives are paying for sins they know nothing about.”
