The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has firmly rejected what it described as “misleading and dangerous fabrications” circulating on social media regarding the outcome of its recent State Caucus meeting, reaffirming its official resolutions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a press statement issued on Tuesday in Abeokuta, the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Nuberu Adesanya Olufemi, clarified that the caucus meeting held at the party secretariat reached clear and unanimous decisions, contrary to claims being spread online.
According to the statement, the caucus unequivocally endorsed Olamilekan Solomon Adeola—popularly known as YAYI—as the APC’s governorship candidate for the 2027 elections in Ogun State. The party described the decision as both “unanimous and consensual,” signaling strong internal alignment ahead of the electoral cycle.
The caucus also reaffirmed its earlier endorsement of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s presidential candidate in the state for the same election year. The statement emphasized the APC’s commitment to mobilizing what it termed an “unprecedented bloc of votes” in support of the president.
“The above are the sole and authentic resolutions reached at the meeting,” the statement read, stressing that any contrary claims should be disregarded as falsehoods. The party warned that narratives outside its official communication channels are deliberate distortions aimed at misleading members and the public.
The Ogun APC urged party faithful and residents to rely only on verified information disseminated through its recognized platforms, reiterating its stance against misinformation, especially as political activities gradually intensify ahead of 2027.
Political observers note that the swift rebuttal underscores the party’s effort to maintain internal cohesion and control its messaging in a climate increasingly shaped by social media discourse.
