A major political milestone was recorded in Ogun State as Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, widely known as Yayi, emerged as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement, which has generated widespread reactions across political circles in the state, is being described by party stakeholders as a defining moment that signals unity and strategic alignment within the APC. Leaders and members of the party reportedly reached a collective agreement to endorse Adeola, citing his track record, loyalty, and contributions to the party’s growth in Ogun State.
In a congratulatory message issued on Wednesday, Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, praised Adeola’s emergence as both “well-deserved” and reflective of his longstanding commitment to public service and party ideals. According to Ogunsola, the endorsement is not merely symbolic but a testament to Adeola’s political strength and grassroots appeal across the state.
