As Ogun State prepares to celebrate 50 years of creation, the Ogun State Government is embarking on a major project to document, preserve, and showcase the rich history, people, milestones, and shared experiences that have shaped our beloved Gateway State over the past five decades.
Beyond official records, the true story of Ogun State lives in the memories, photographs, keepsakes, and personal archives of its people. We are therefore calling on citizens, families, institutions, and communities to be part of this historic journey by contributing materials that reflect Ogun State’s growth from inception to today.
We invite the submission of old photographs, video clips, newspaper cuttings, memorabilia, artefacts, and personal records that capture important moments, personalities, events, and everyday life in Ogun State. These may include:
📸 Early images of towns, markets, schools, industries, and public infrastructure.
🎭 Records of cultural festivals, traditional institutions, and community life.
🏛 Materials linked to major political, social, educational, and economic milestones.
🏅 Memorabilia relating to notable Ogun indigenes and institutions.
👨👩👧👦 Family archives showing how life in Ogun State has evolved.
🎥 Current photos and videos celebrating Ogun State today.
All submissions will be carefully curated, properly documented, and fully credited. Selected materials may feature in exhibitions, publications, documentaries, and digital archives to commemorate Ogun State @ 50. Original items, where required, will be professionally handled and promptly returned.
This Golden Jubilee is not just a celebration of years, but a celebration of our shared heritage, collective sacrifice, and enduring progress. We encourage every citizen to take ownership of this moment by helping to tell the Ogun story in our own voices and images.
