Imasayi, Ogun State, witnessed a moment of pride and cultural significance on Tuesday, 24 December 2025, as His Royal Majesty, Oba Lukman Olalekan Kuoye, PhD, FCIM, formally presented an official letter conferring traditional titles on Mr. Akeem Olumide Tijani and his wife.
The letter, issued by the Olu Imasayi-in-Council, conveyed the Council’s decision to bestow on Mr. Tijani the revered title of Oluomo Imasayi, while his wife was honoured with the title of Yeye Oluomo Imasayi—a recognition reserved for individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to community service and development.
Receiving the letter with visible humility, Mr. Tijani described the honour as deeply personal and historic. According to him, it is the first traditional title conferred on him by his motherland, Yewaland, making it a milestone in his life and service journey.
“This recognition touches me profoundly,” he said. “It is coming from my roots, from my people, and that makes it priceless.”
Mr. Tijani, who is the Chief Executive Officer of NOVACARE Staffing and Recruitment Ltd, based in Sheffield, United Kingdom, explained that the title of Oluomo aligns closely with his lifelong philosophy of service. Over the years, he has been involved in modest but consistent philanthropic initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of people both at home and in the diaspora.
“The name Oluomo resonates with what we have always stood for—giving back, supporting our people, and contributing, in our own way, to community wellbeing,” he noted.
He expressed sincere appreciation to His Royal Majesty, Oba Lukman Olalekan Kuoye, and members of the Olu Imasayi-in-Council for what he described as a “rare and humbling recognition” of his efforts in service to humanity and grassroots development.
As anticipation builds toward the official coronation ceremony, Mr. Tijani offered prayers for the continued peace, progress, and prosperity of Imasayi land and Yewa at large, reaffirming his commitment to remain a worthy ambassador of his people wherever he finds himself.
The conferment has been widely welcomed by indigenes of Imasayi and Yewaland, many of whom see it as a fitting honour for a son of the soil whose professional success abroad has not weakened his connection to home.
With this recognition, Akeem Olumide Tijani formally joins the ranks of traditional title holders tasked with upholding the values, unity, and development aspirations of Imasayi and Yewa land.
