Sagamu, Ogun State — The Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, has led the entire cabinet of the council to felicitate with His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, the Torungbuwa II, and other revered traditional rulers in Remo Land, as well as all sons and daughters of Remo, on the occasion of the 2nd edition of Remo Day.
In a goodwill message released to mark the celebration, the council described Remo Day as a significant cultural and historical milestone that underscores the rich heritage, enduring unity, and shared values of the Remo people.
According to the statement, the annual celebration provides an opportunity for indigenes at home and in the diaspora to reconnect with their roots, honour the age-long traditions of the land, and appreciate the invaluable role of traditional institutions in promoting peace, stability, and development.
“Remo Day stands as a proud reminder of who we are as a people — resilient, united, and forward-looking,” the statement read. “It is a moment to celebrate our cultural identity, acknowledge the wisdom and leadership of our royal fathers, and reaffirm our collective commitment to peace, progress, and sustainable development across Remo Land.”
The Sagamu Local Government chairman further commended the traditional rulers for their continuous guidance and support in fostering harmony among communities, noting that their leadership remains pivotal to grassroots development and social cohesion.
Ogbeni Odulate also offered prayers for divine guidance and blessings upon the land and its people, expressing optimism that Remo Land would continue to experience growth, prosperity, and unity.
“We pray that the Almighty God continues to strengthen our royal institutions, bless our land with harmony and prosperity, and uplift every indigene of Remo, both at home and in the diaspora,” the statement added.
The message concluded with traditional prayers and chants symbolizing strength, divine backing, and collective progress for the Remo people: “Aseyi Samodun lagbara Olorun. Remo a gbe dede eni ooo.”
The 2nd Remo Day celebration is expected to feature cultural displays, royal processions, and community engagements aimed at promoting unity, preserving heritage, and showcasing the socio-economic potential of Remo Land.
