Ogun NUJ Federated Chapel Congratulates Wale Olanrewaju on Re-Election As Council Chairman

The Ogun State Federated Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has congratulated Comrade Wale Olanrewaju on his re-election as Chairman of the Ogun State Council of the Union.


In a congratulatory message released on Friday, the Chapel described Olanrewaju’s return for another three-year term as a well-deserved victory rooted in dedication, competence, and consistent service to the journalism profession.


The statement, jointly signed by the Chairman of the Federated Chapel, Comrade Juwon Opayemi, and the Secretary, Comrade Babalola Gafar, noted that the re-election process was peaceful and reflective of members’ confidence in Olanrewaju’s leadership style.


Comrade Opayemi praised the NUJ Chairman for steering the Council with integrity and professionalism, saying his first term recorded notable progress in welfare, training, and media development across the state.


He added that Olanrewaju’s continued leadership would further strengthen collaboration among chapels and promote a more united and vibrant media community in Ogun State.


On his part, Comrade Babalola Gafar commended the newly re-elected chairman for maintaining an open-door policy, which he said has contributed immensely to stability within the Ogun NUJ.


Gafar expressed optimism that Olanrewaju’s second term would usher in more innovative programmes aimed at enhancing the capacity of journalists for effective news reporting and adherence to ethical standards.


He also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Council under Olanrewaju’s leadership, urging all journalists in the state to work collectively towards upholding the dignity of the profession.


He further encouraged the chairman to sustain his advocacy for press freedom, media safety, and improved welfare of journalists across the state.
