Odega, who is now in police custody, admitted during a brief interview at the Delta State Police Command headquarters in Asaba on Saturday that he had repeatedly abused his children.
Speaking with Punch, the suspect said, “I have three daughters, and I started sleeping with my first daughter when she was 12 years old.”
Suspect also confessed to abusing his other daughters, now aged 13 and 15, over the same period.
According to him, “The command has arrested a father who had been defiling his three daughters for the past seven years. The three children are now aged 13, 15, and 24.”
Edafe explained that the disclosure followed an outreach by the DPO of Ogborikoko Division, CSP Temi Agbede Zuokumor, who visited a school to educate pupils on speaking out against abuse.
He said, “During the enlightenment programme, a child spoke up, which eventually led to the arrest of the father.”
The police spokesman added that all three children have been taken to the hospital, where they are receiving medical attention.
