The Central Coordinate Movement (CCM) has reaffirmed its commitment to youth mobilization and community development across Ogun Central Senatorial District, following a strategic meeting held on Tuesday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The meeting, which came after the successful resolution of a dispute involving the group’s Ewekoro branch at the Nawarudeen area of the city, drew youths from all six local governments within the district — Abeokuta South, Abeokuta North, Obafemi-Owode, Odeda, Ewekoro, and Ifo.
Addressing members, the Chairman of the movement, Alhaji Taiwo Elewide, popularly known as Big Champion, emphasized the importance of expanding the group’s membership base and ensuring that every member possesses a valid voter’s card ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
According to him, CCM remains focused on empowering young people to be agents of positive change rather than instruments of violence or political unrest.
“Our mission is to build responsible and impactful youths who can contribute meaningfully to society,” he said. “We must all distance ourselves from hooliganism and maintain the good image of this movement.”
Alhaji Elewide also assured members that the leadership of CCM would continue to ensure that everyone benefits from any opportunities or dividends that come to the group. He further encouraged members to proudly identify with the movement by wearing their branded T-shirts and caps during and after meetings as a symbol of unity and recognition.
However, he issued a stern warning to commercial motorcycle riders within the group not to use the CCM-branded attire while working, in order to protect the integrity and public perception of the organization.
The meeting ended on a note of renewed commitment as members pledged to intensify grassroots mobilization across the six local government areas and uphold the ideals of peace, discipline, and community service that the Central Coordinate Movement stands for.
