Abeokuta, Ogun State – A shocking family feud has emerged in the political arena of Ogun State, as former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sikirulai Olawale Ogundele, publicly disowned his son, Okikiola Yusuf Ogundele, following disparaging remarks made by the latter against the government of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The controversy erupted after a viral video surfaced, showing Okikiola Yusuf Ogundele criticizing the policies and governance of the APC in Ogun State, Calling them "Jegudu'Jera" The video quickly garnered attention on social media, igniting a firestorm of discussion about the intersection of politics and family loyalty.
In a pointed response, Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele, who recently defected to the APC along with several prominent leaders and supporters, expressed his outrage. During a press conference held shortly after the video gained traction, he referred to Okikiola as a “bastard,” distanced himself from his son’s views, and declared that he was ashamed of his public statements.
“And you are still taking monthly allowance from my business, honestly you are a fucking BASTARD" This was his comment on the viral video on Facebook
The Ogundele’s political shift was part of a larger trend within the Ogun State PDP, where many members have been realigning their affiliations ahead of the upcoming elections. The defection, marked by a grand ceremony at Ake Abeokuta, was attended by Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun and other influential APC figures, further solidifying the party's presence in the state.
