Nigerian rapper and music executive, MI (Jude Abaga), has expressed deep sorrow over the recent wave of killings in Benue State.
In a statement shared on X , he declared his solidarity with the affected communities and called for an end to the cycle of violence.
MI described the killings as a deep grief, stating that the Middle Belt has been bleeding excessively.
He added, “I stand in solidarity with my brothers and sisters in Benue. Your pain is my pain. We can’t normalise this cycle of violence that has plagued our land for too long. To those we’ve lost: we will not forget you. To those still standing, we stand with you.”
He stood in solidarity with the people of Benue, saying their pain is his pain and that the cycle of violence cannot be normalized.
MI paid tribute to those lost, promising that they will not be forgotten, and offered support to those still standing.
The statement follows reports of mass killings in Benue State's Guma Local Government Area, where over 100 people were reportedly killed in a two-day rampage by suspected herders.
MI's statement is one of many reactions to the tragic incident, highlighting the impact of violence on communities and the need for collective support and action.
