DSS Seeks Court Order To Stop Pat Utomi’s Planned Rallies Over ‘Shadow Government’ Claims

The Department of State Services (DSS) has filed a fresh application at the Federal High Court in Abuja seeking to stop Professor Pat Utomi from holding rallies or making public comments related to his proposed “shadow government.”

In the motion, filed through its lawyer Akinlolu Kehinde (SAN), the DSS requested an interlocutory injunction restraining Utomi and his associates from staging protests, media appearances, or any form of public engagement tied to the ongoing case.

The DSS had earlier sued Utomi, accusing him of plotting to establish a parallel government, which it described as a threat to national security. The court had set June 25 for the hearing of that case.

According to the DSS, intelligence reports indicated that Utomi currently abroad is planning protests and roadshows upon his return to Nigeria on June 6.

The agency warned that such activities could incite public unrest similar to the 2020 End SARS protests.

The DSS argued that Utomi’s continued actions and statements undermine the judicial process and pose a threat to public order, safety, and national unity.
