Celebrating Two Years of Progress: Hon. Odunuga Olusegun Ayodele Kaka's Impact in Ijebu North II (felodun Constituency)

As Hon. Odunuga Olusegun Ayodele Kaka marks his two-year anniversary as a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly representing the esteemed Ijebu North II (Ifelodun) constituency, he reflects on a remarkable journey filled with community-driven projects and impactful initiatives. With strong stewardship and dedication, Hon. Kaka has consistently sought to improve the lives of his constituents through various developmental efforts.



Water and Sanitation Projects


In a bid to improve access to clean water, Hon. Kaka has successfully implemented several water projects across the constituency:

- A new borehole was constructed at Imota, near the SSG House in Oru Ijebu.
- Long-abandoned boreholes at Ikansi and Mamu Market have been rehabilitated, ensuring that communities now have reliable access to clean water.

Economic Empowerment for Traders
Understanding the importance of enhancing the livelihoods of local traders, Hon. Kaka facilitated the following initiatives:

- A contribution of ₦500,000 was allocated to kickstart a traders' money rotation scheme aimed at empowering market women in Awa Ijebu.

Electricity and Illumination Improvements


Efforts to enhance electricity supply and community illumination were realized by:

- The installation of a 500kVA/11 transformer in Ololo/Mariam Community, supported by a donation of ₦500,000.
- Street lighting initiatives, including illuminating major roads in Awa Ijebu and Oru Ijebu with solar-powered street lights.

Cultural and Social Celebrations
Acknowledging the rich cultural heritage within his constituency, Hon. Kaka has also invested in community celebrations:

- Facilitated ₦2 million for both Awa Day and Ago-Iwoye Day celebrations to promote cultural heritage.
- Donated ₦1 million for Awa Day festivities and supported Ogenegene Day at Ilaporu.

Holiday Support and Food Palliatives


In recognition of the economic challenges faced by families, particularly after the fuel subsidy removal, Hon. Kaka distributed significant food palliatives:

- Disbursement of ₦9 million among various groups, including the Osugbo, Christian, and Muslim associations in Ifelodun.
- Extensive food distribution, including bags of rice, beans, and other essential commodities to alleviate the food insecurity.

Infrastructure Development and Rural Road Grading
Hon. Kaka's commitment to improving infrastructure included:

- Procurement of a D6R Bulldozer worth ₦42 million for road network upgrades in rural areas.
- Grading multiple community roads to enhance access and connectivity for residents and improve local transportation.

Educational Support Initiatives


Hon. Kaka’s initiatives in education have positively impacted many students:

- Over 50 students were facilitated admission into Olabisi Onabanjo University for various medical courses.
- Educational seminars and scholarship awards were provided to public secondary school students, along with holiday coaching programs benefiting over 800 students.

Employment Opportunities


Creating employment pathways has also been a priority:

- Facilitation of jobs for numerous individuals as community health workers, health officers, and teaching positions, showcasing a commitment to providing sustainable livelihoods.

Healthcare Initiatives


In the healthcare sector, Hon. Kaka advocated for numerous health-related initiatives, such as:

- Sponsorship for free medical tests and surgeries for residents.
- Payment of medical bills for referred patients to ensure no one is left without medical care.

Sports and Community Engagement
Encouraging physical wellness and community engagement through sports, Hon. Kaka sponsored:

- Marathon races during Iwoye Day and Oru Day, and supported scouting programs to discover football talents within the constituency.

Major Infrastructure Development: Collaborative Leadership


One of the notable success stories during Hon. Kaka’s tenure is the commencement of the Omo-Edumare - Okenugbo linking road project. This initiative signifies collaborative leadership and fruitful partnerships with:

- President Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dapo Abiodun, whose support has been pivotal in realizing this essential infrastructure for economic development and connectivity.

Hon. Kaka acknowledged the groundwork laid by his predecessor, Rt. Hon. Oludare Kadiri Maba, highlighting the importance of continuity in governance and development.
