So-Safe Corps Apprehends Suspect for Cable Vandalism at Ogun Gateway Stadium





Ilaro, Ogun State – April 23, 2025 - The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has arrested a 24-year-old man, Aliyu Umaru, for allegedly vandalizing and stealing underground electrification cables at the Ogun Gateway Stadium in Ilaro.

The apprehension occurred during a routine patrol by officers from the Ilaro Area Command around 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday. According to a statement from Dr. Soji Ganzallo, State Commander of So-Safe Corps, the officers observed suspicious activity at the stadium and approached the scene.

Upon arrival, they found Umaru in the act of vandalizing the property. He was promptly apprehended at the site. During the investigation, officers recovered a quantity of the stolen cables, along with tools including a cutlass and scissors.

Commander Ganzallo confirmed that Umaru and the recovered items have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force at the Ilaro Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and potential prosecution.

The So-Safe Corps remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of the community by addressing vandalism and theft targeting public infrastructure.
