
CP Monday Agbonika has resumed as the Commissioner of Police in Edo State, making him the 50th Commissioner of Police in the state.
He resumed duties on Tuesday in Benin City, the state capital.
An indigene of Idah Local Government Area in Kogi State Agbonika takes over from CP Betty Otimenyin, an indigene of Edo, who has been reassigned to the Department of Operations at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The new CP has over three decades experience in law enforcement, he began his career with the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police. He is an alumnus of the Nigeria Police Academy Annex in Kaduna and holds advanced degrees in Organisational Psychology as well as Security and Strategic Studies.
On resumption, Agbonika called for strong collaboration between the state government and the citizens, emphasizing his determination to foster peace and maintain order in the entire Edo State.
