Investors Gain N100bn As Equities Market Reverses Previous Day’s Loss






The Nigerian equities market rebounded from yesterday’s losses as investors gained N100 billion on the trading floor of the Nigerian Xchange Group (NGX) on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

This follows a surge in the share prices of stocks like NSLTECH, ABBEYBDS, and STERLINGNG amongst others on the trading floor.


After five hours of trading at the capital market, the equity capitalization increased to ₦65.589 trillion from ₦65.489 trillion which the bourse recorded on Monday, April 8, 2025.

The benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) increased to 104,376.73 points from 104,216.87 points which were recorded the previous trading day.


The market breadth was negative as 16 stocks advanced and 41 stocks declined, while 64 stocks remained unchanged in 14,528 deals.


led other gainers with 8.89%, 8.35%, and 6.85% growth each in prices to close at N0.49, N5.58 and N5.15 from the previous N0.45, N5.15 and N4.82 per share.


UHOMREIT, NAHCO, and NEM led other price decliners with 9.95%, 9.94% and 9.92% decline NSLTECH, ABBEYBDS, and STERLINGNG each in share prices to close at N46.15, N62.96 and N11.80 from the previous N51.25, N69.60 and N13.10 per share.


On the volume index, ACCESSCORP led trading with 56 million shares in 966 deals followed by GTCO which traded 51 million shares in 896 deals.

FIDELITYBK traded 24 million shares in 580 deals.

On the value index, GTCO topped as the security traded stock worth N3.4 billion in 896 deals followed by ACCESSCORP which traded equities worth N1.1 billion in 966 deals.

ZENITHBANK traded shares valued at N833 million in 830 deals.
