
The Nigerian equities market returned to profit-making mode on Monday, March 10, 2025, as investors gained ₦55 billion on the trading floor of the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) to begin the week in a positive mode.
This follows a surge in the share prices of stocks like ETERNA, TRANSCORP, FCMB amongst others on the trading floor.
After five hours of trading at the capital market, the equity capitalization increased to ₦66.769 trillion from ₦66.714 trillion which the bourse recorded on Friday, March 7, 2025.
The benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) increased to 106,621.91 points from 106,533.26 points which were recorded the previous trading day.
The market breadth was positive as 31 stocks advanced and 26 stocks declined, while 64 stocks remained unchanged in 14,565 deals.
ETERNA, TRANSCORP, FCMB led other gainers with 9.96%, 9.91% and 9.89% growth each in prices to close at N37.55, N51.55 and N10.00 from the previous N34.15, N46.90 and N9.10 per share.
VFDGROUP, INTENEGINS, and CADBURY led other price decliners with 9.92%,8.72% and 8.00% decline each in share prices to close at N47.20, N1,78 and N23.00 from the previous N52.40, N1.95 and N25.00 per share.
On the volume index, FIDELITYBANK led trading with 56 million shares in 568 deals followed by ACCESSCORP which traded 30 million shares in 665 deals.
ZENITHBANK traded 27 million shares in 804 deals.
On the value index, GEREGU topped as the security traded stock worth N9.4 billion in 135 deals followed by ZENITHBANK which traded equities worth N1.3 billion in 804 deals.
FIDELITYBK traded shares valued at N970 million in 568 deals.
