In a significant move aimed at enhancing infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents, the Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ambassador Adesina 'Lanre Ogunsola FCPA, has officially launched a road grading initiative across all 12 wards within the council area. This initiative marks a crucial step in fulfilling the promises made during his election campaign, demonstrating a commitment to effective service delivery.
During a visit to the grading site, Amb. Ogunsola emphasized the importance of this exercise in addressing the pressing concerns of residents regarding the deteriorating condition of roads in several communities. He acknowledged the challenges faced by local farmers and residents due to poor road conditions, which have hindered the transportation of agricultural produce and essential goods.
"Despite the financial constraints we face, it is imperative that we prioritize the grading of these roads as a palliative measure. While we may not be able to provide asphalt roads at this time, we believe that improving accessibility through grading will significantly alleviate some of the challenges our residents encounter," Amb. Ogunsola stated.
The road grading initiative commenced in Batolu Village, where local leaders, including Mr. Adebayo David, Chairman of the Community Development Associations (CDA), expressed their gratitude for the council's efforts. "We sincerely appreciate the support from our Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, and the Executive Chairman, Amb. Ogunsola. This gesture brings hope to our community, and we pray for continued success in their endeavors," Mr. David remarked.
Amb. Ogunsola also reassured the residents of his unwavering commitment to delivering on his election promises, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the local government and the community. He called on residents to actively support local initiatives by fulfilling their tax obligations, stating, "We cannot solely rely on Federal Allocations to sustain our development.
