The National Chairman of the Labour Party Julius Abure has been arrested by the police in Benin City, Edo State over allegations of attempted murder.
We gathered that Julius Abure was arrested following a petition by the party’s former Youth Leader, Eragbe Anselm Aphimia. Images and visuals emerged on social media, showing Abure seated on the floor before he was taken away in a vehicle by the policemen.
NE reports that Abure faces allegations of embezzling about N3billion of party funds.
Abure’s arrest comes just a day before the party’s primary election in Edo state. Party officials are yet to speak on the matter
