A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sagamu, Ogun State and State
General Manager, Parks and Garages Development Board (PAGADEB), Prince Sesan Asenuga, has reportedly escaped an attempted assassination in his country home, Sagamu early hours of today.

It was gathered that some masked gunmen in camouflage stormed the resident of the General Manager, who had just arrived his abode on a trip from Lagos alongside his brother, Gbolahan Asenuga.

Narrating the situation to pressmen, Asenuga said that, "this morning, 23 February, around 1:00 am, I was coming from Lagos with my younger brother, Gbolahan Asenuga.  On getting to my house gate, my brother on driver wheel, put on the Head Lamp of my car and we sighted five hefty guys in camouflage stationed at my gate. I equally noticed a Toyota Highlander had crossed my way through

"I smelled a rat owing to the volatility of our Area recently and the invasion of banks and public facilities by some alleged sponsored political hoodlums who had been disturbing public peace, and that made us made a swift reverse. While he was trying to maneuver the vehicle away from the gate, they open fire on us, shooting sporadically and we managed to escape with God's grace", the APC chieftain noted.

He said that he immediately called the attention of the Area Commander, Sakura Police Command, who on getting to the venue discovered that the criminals had left.

Asenuga added that on gaining access to his house under the supervision of the police officers, his wife has been severely injured, found unconscious while his houseboy beaten to stupor by the assassins, who scaled through the fence into the building.

"As you can see, these are dozens of bullet shells on the ground after their dreadful operations, this is purely a politically motivated attempt to erase me off-  just for the sake of politics. I appeal to the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, State Commissioner of Police and other security agencies to unravel those behind the recent unrest in Sagamu. We don't want to go back to the days of bloodshed, my life and family are at risk as we speak", he concluded.
