GOV ABIODUN, CONFERENCE OF SPEAKERS' CHAIRMAN, OTHERS EXTOL OLUOMO'S LATE MOTHER

As the Speaker  of the Ogun State  House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, organised the eight-day Fidau prayer for his late mother, Alhaja Tawakalitu Agboola Oluomo, it was yet another round of eulogies for the late matriarch of the Oluomo Royal Family, as dignitaries from all walks of life paid glowing tributes to the octogenarian, who was also the Iya Suna of Ifo Land.

The event, which was held at the deceased’s country home in Ifo was attended by several political leaders across the country, government functionaries, clerics of both faiths, party members, families, friends and associates.

In attendance were the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, State Chief Judge, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, Chairman, Conference of Speakers and Speaker of Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Suleiman in company of his Ekiti, Ondo, Kano and Niger Colleague-Speakers, Rt. Hons. Funminiyi Afuye, 
Bamidele Oleyelogun, Hamisu Chidari and Bawa Wuse.

Others were the State serving and former Lawmakers, party chieftains, religious and community leaders among others. 

In his remarks, Governor Abiodun who extolled the Speaker's late mother for a life well spent with service to God and humanity in positive ways, urged the family to take solace that the deceased lived a worthy life and left behind fond memories. 

According to him, " the death of a beloved Matriarch is usually a painful loss, no matter the age, especially coming at a time her treasured companionship, wealth of experience and motherly counsel are most required".

Governor Abiodun stated that Speaker Oluomo had been seamlessly piloting the affairs of the legislative arm, which had resulted into harmonious working relationship among all arms of government, thus sustaining and attracting more development initiatives to the State. 

Also, the Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Suleiman, who offered prayers for the repose of  the soul of the deceased, extended his condolence to Speaker Oluomo and the entire family of the octogenarian.

In their separate remarks, the Chief Imam, Ifo Land, Imam Alli Olude, Mufasiu of Ifo Land, Abdulwasiu Odebode and Primate of the African Church, His Eminence Julius Abbey, tasked the people to be mindful of their deeds while alive as everyone was bound to give account to his creator in the day of judgment. 

They charged the people to emulate the life and virtues of late Alhaja Oluomo, who they described as a deeply pious religious adherent, who exhibited religious tolerance amongst family, friends and neighbours.

While stating that others should learn from her well-celebrated death, the clerics applauded the deceased for touching lives with her deeds and resources at her disposal while alive.
