An aspirant for the Ife Federal House of Reps Seat in the 2023 election, Hon. Rotimi Makinde was among dignitaries who accompanied Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola to Ile-Ife where he formally flagged off his Governorship re-election campaign on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Governor and his high profile entourage further received royal blessings from the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi; (Ọjájá II) at his palace in Ile-Ife on Thursday, May 19, 2022.

The Governor was received by a mammoth crowd of supporters, which included party members, artisans, market women and all members of the general public from Ife Central, Ife East Local Governments and beyond.

Makinde while speaking on Oyetola’s virtues described his reelection bid as beyond career for all citizens of Osun state at this crucial stage and said:

“Osun State needs a level headed and well rounded person with sound economic sense like Governor Oyetola to drive development in the State, not jesters with no modicum of dignity or seriousness.

“And of course Governor Oyetola has the wealth of experience and network that the State needs, we cannot afford to miss a technocrat like this. The excellent leadership qualities in him should not be diminished by any critic that are interested only in their own pecuniary gains to the detriment of the entire state.” he added.

Meanwhile, Rotimi Makinde on his own bidding for the House of Reps seat, said he would avail himself as a chief servant for all and will as well be fair to all.

“By the grace of God once I make my entrance to the hallowed chamber of the House of Representatives, I will be fair to all. There will be no discrimination, no religious bias, no malice and I will strongly uphold service to the people across board and loyalty to party will never be compromised.

“The National Assembly is a familiar terrain to me and I assure my great people that I will never disappoint them. This time around many unfinished jobs by me during the 7th Assembly will be completed and more will be facilitated.

“I will deepen quality representation, introduce life impacting Bills that will address socio-economic needs of my constituents and their welfare, I will also be far reaching, more strategic and tactical in the deployment of my empowerment initiatives, particularly in youth empowerment, capacity building and human capital development these and more will definitely be my priorities.” Makinde stated.
