The political leaders in meko—Afon local government under All Progressives Congress, APC has adopted the current assembly member, Hon Jemili Akingbade as their consensus candidate to run in 2023 election today 23rd of May 2023.

The adoption came through a letter addressed to Prince Dapo Abiodun, the executive governor of Ogun State, through Mr Tunde Talabi, the Secretary to the state government stating their resolution after meeting themselves and agreeing to field Hon Jemili Akjngbade as their favourite candidate for the next house of Assembly election.
