HON GOCO MET WITH APC IFO 2 PARTY LEADERS, GOVERNMENT FUNCTIONARIES, WARDS COUNCILORS, WARDS CHAIRMEN & LG PARTY EXCOS OF IFO 2 STATE CONSTITUENCY; HE GAVE ACCOUNT OF STEWARDSHIP AND SEEKS SUPPORT FOR CONTINUITY

 



• The All Progressives Congress (APC) party chieftains/stakeholders in IFO 2 State Constituency among which were the LG Party Chairman, Barrister Olumide, Wards Councilors led by the Leader of the House and Wards Chairmen were hosted by Hon Ganiyu Alani Oyedeji (GOCO) OGHA IFO 2 at his Constituency Office, Rafco-Aboro Road, Agbado yesterday, Friday 8th April 2022.

• The interactive session was birthed on the account of stewardship of Hon GOCO over the years as representative of the people as well as to seek support for continuity.

• In his remarks, Hon GOCO warmly appreciated the support enjoyed over the years from the party leaders and thanked God for the journey so far.

• He reiterated his loyalty to the number one party leader in the State, Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun, MFR, the Governor of our dear Ogun State and how he has been instrumental to the peace and stability in the state house of assembly as a legislator.

• He further gave accounts of his stewardship both on legislative and intervention activities. 

• He ran through the bills he personally sponsored or co-sponsored which have been passed into laws, like Ogun State Anti-Grazing Bill, Anti Land Grabbing Bill, Community Development Association Bill, Anti-Cultism Bill, Local Government Amendment Bill, People with disability Bill, Yearly Appropriation Bill, Private Public Partnership Bill, among others.

• He reported on the various motions on pressing issues moved by him, such as calling the attention of the state government to: the state of our roads; the need for proper boundary demarcation between Ogun and Lagos States to prevent encroachment; the need to take over schools built and being sponsored by the communities that met the established standard; calling for regular attention to the problem of water hyacinth or vegetation blocking a section of Ogun rivers; calling on INEC to create sub registration across the State Constituencies to ease Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) process; calling on State Government to establish customary and magistrate courts across all the 26 State Constituencies for ease of administration of justice; calling on the State Government to encourage all home owners in the state through their Community Associations to construct drainage in front of their houses; 

• His efforts at provisions of basic amenities to each ward was also reported and these include: provision of 12 units of borehole water on request with brand new generators to power them at different locations across the 6 wards in the Constituency; specifically at Temole and Oyero of Ososun Ward 8; Ojokodo of Sunren Ward 9, Ijoko Lemode, Enilolobo and Adiyan Alahusa of Ibaragun/Oke-Aro Ward 7; Akute and Baale Akinosi of Ward 6; Yakoyo of Ojodu/Isheri Ward 5; Owonikoko, Sango and Agbado Area Office of Ward 4 respectively.

• He also mentioned palliative interventions on the grading of some of the roads across IFO 2 that he personally financed and a mention was also made of various financial donations to support Area CDCs' communal projects development efforts, which were well appreciated by the concerned communities.

• Hon GOCO also mentioned the facilitation of Swampbuggy to clear canals from Adiyan through Alagbole down to Ojodu Isheri end. Provision of Public toilet at Z.I. Primary School 3 at Akute, Donation of the sum of N250,000 cash support to kick start the construction of Magistrate Court at Ojodu/Isheri as well as fencing of Yakoyo Health Post outreach.

• He equally extended his gesture to the Youths through financial support for businesses, empowerment, ITF training and other training in partnership with NGOs costing millions of naira, annual distribution of free JAMB Forms and giving scholarship to indigent students, capacity building for our teeming youth, monthly financial support to National Youth Council of Nigeria as well as Youth in Community Development in Constituency 2, Yearly sponsorship of community leaders and Youths for Community leadership training at Sha Shaw, Iperu Community training School. Monthly welfare packages to notable Political and Community Leaders as well as the religious group. Care for the Women, Widow and the Aged are not left behind through cash support for businesses and relief materials as well as generally funding support for the needies (school fees, marriage/naming ceremonies, hospitals bills, house rent, aged support, burial programmes, house rehabilitation/warming, house completion, police/courts cases legal assistance among others.

• He noted his efforts during attempted house demolitions by Lagos Water Corporation in respect of Adiyan Water pipelines project where over 600 houses were planned for demolition around Oke-Aro and Akute communities and how through the motion raised by him at the plenary of OGHA, the planned demolitions were halted. The authority concerned in Ogun and Lagos were brought into a negotiation table with the representative of the affected communities. With this efforts, less than 54 houses were affected eventually as against the over six hundred that were originally marked for demolition. The owners of the affected houses  have been fully compensated.

• The same goes during the demolition quit notice served by LAMATA on some properties at Agbado Opeilu and Itoki areas over the ongoing LRMT Redline and Associated Infrastructure Project embarked upon by Lagos State. He recalled resolutions moved by him at OGHA and passed by the whole house and transmitted to the Governor which checked the excesses of the demolition bodies, brought them to a round table meeting with the affected communities and ensured adequate compensation to the affected individuals.

• Hon GOCO equally noted his recent intervention on the floor of the house on illegal enforcement of court judgment on land matters affecting many communities at Sunren Ward 9 and the need to protect law and order in the area. This has led to the house resolution urging the Governor to constitute a special task force on land grabbing which he believed will address the menace.

• His loyalty to the party was reiterated through regular engagements and donations upon request for party needs. He mentioned his donation of seats to the APC party meeting place at Sunren, Ward 9, Computer system, Modem and Printer to the party at the local government level to boost INEC CVR registration exercise as well as regular payment of ten percent of his salary to the party to aid its administration.

• He equally noted how he has been consistent in maintaining good harmonious working relationship with the  Governor and other legislative colleagues including the Rt Hon Speaker in order not to have his Constituents denied of the Governor's largesse.


• He added that the 3 ongoing roads reconstruction by the State Governor with 2 domicile in IFO 2, Osoba road at Agbado and Denro-Ishashi road at Akute was part of his joint efforts while on several occasions on the floor of the house, he raised concerns of the people of IFO 2 over the deplorable conditions of our roads especially Ijoko Akute Ojodu road and he has not stopped at it until they are done.

• He charged the party leaders to support continuity as it would strengthen him to actualise more given the recognition and status usually accorded a ranking and especially a 3rd term legislator in the house. 

He assures of his continued loyalty to the party, while assuring that the plights of the people of Ifo 2 State Constituency shall remain burning at his heart always.
