Lagos School Old Students kick-start reunion to pay back alma mater 23 years after

Amidst pomp and peagantry, the 1998 Old Students of Ayedere Ajibola High School, Ketu,Lagos State have reunited after 23 years with the aim of giving back to their alma mater and strengthen the relationship of the set.

The Old Students who came from different parts of the country while some others in the diaspora joined via zoom, who had their first physical reunion in the school premises along Anibaba Street, Ketu, were full of gratitude to God who spared their lives to meet again after over two decades of parting.

Speaking at the occasion, the Head Boy of the Set, Victor Nwankwo, said the reunion will enable them to have a formidable Old Students Association for the 1998 set that will remain united in giving back to the school that made them.

Nwankwo, who was represented by the Assistant Head Boy of the set, Kolawole Osuntunde, admonished his colleagues to rally round the school in the area of needs, just as he commended the Lagos State Government for giving a significant facelift to the entire school.

He said that there were no storey buildings during their time in the school, noting that the government had replaced the then poultry buildings with modern day structures.

" Since it is obvious to us that the Lagos State Government is really doing its part in ensuring that students learning in a far better condition than we had during our time, it is expidient we come out to give our full support to this great school that made us. 
" We are going to use our relationship to help one another and have a stronger front for opportunities across board. It cannot be overemphasized that our joy of meeting again after 23 years is boundless,"he said.

The Head Boy commended the Principal, Mrs. Cecilia Odimayomi and the leadership of the school for their support to the success of the reunion, adding that the hardwork is present management of the school is yielding result.

In her remarks, the Principal, Mrs. Odimayomi, appreciated the 1998 Set of the school for deeming it fit to give back to their alma mater, assuring that she would work hand-in-hand with them in all areas of interest. 

The first of its kind reunion which had the present and immediate past Head Boys and Head Girls in attendance featured dance, goodwill Messages while the set gave a toast to an impactful Old Students efforts.
