"Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire., This year, 2021 theme is Recovering better for an equitable and sustainable world"

The Olu of Igbore, Oba Adeogun Ogunbona, The Olu of Owode, Oba Fatai Kolawole Sowemimo, Obafemi Owode Local Government Chairman, Hon Ogunsola Lanrewaju Adesina and Wife, Mojisola Ogunsola was honoured with 'Ambassadorial Eminent awards' at the annual celebration of United Nations, UN, World International Peace Day.














The event was organized by the International Association of World Peace Advocates, a world class organisation with United Nations ECOSOC Consultative status since 2019) in observance of the United Nations World Peace Day today, Tuesday 21st of September 2021. 

According to the guest lecturer, Ambassador Prof. Chidi Ehiriodo, Director, International Association of World Peace Advocates charged the participants and the world in general to embrace peace as it is the only way to sustainable development of our countries, he reminded the participants of the past war and conflict as well as the implication to development in the world.

The High Chief Oluwole Matthew, the chairman of the occasion maintained that peace is very paramount in our society as he welcomed all participants for gracing the programme. 

Other personalities awarded during the event were, Hon Ogunsola Lanrewaju Adesina, Prof Francisca Bassey, Goodness Osah from Babcock University, Goodness Hosa, Sister Cecilia, Chief Tambo Maddona from Liberia, Pastor Dr Sunny David, Olatunji Oladimeji.

Representing the United Nations, UN, Amb. Chief Per Statsen, International Peace President, Denmark charged the newly awarded eminent personalities to ensure they represent themselves well in the society by promoting peace and stability of the world.

"The awards is not money oriented, we selected our awardees based on their social responsibility and role in maintaining peace within their society." Statsen said.

On their various awards plague, they were awarded as Eminent Peace Ambassador and they are qualified to all rights and privileges binding the organisation and also expected to function as a peacemaker in any part of the world with regards to the declaration on the right of people to peace (1984) of the United Nations resolution.

They were also presented with registration plate number with their serial numbers for their official vehicles after which they were mandated henceforth to use green pen for all their activities, including bank cheque signing.
