The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, his Lagos State counterpart, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other eminent Nigerians have eulogised late Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye, who passed on recently.

Governor Abiodun in his remarks at the memorial evening of worship and tributes in celebration of life of the Otunba of Kolawolu of Ijebu-Igbo, at the Haven hall, Ikeja, Lagos, said the pain of losing the well-respected son of Ogun was a deep one, not only to the State government but the entire country.

Represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the Governor said "late Durojaiye was a man everyone looked up to as a father. He was blessed with wisdom and compassion and played a vital role during this administration’s campaign".
While thanking God for a life well spent, Abiodun prayed that God grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss and grant him eternal rest.

In his remark, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Sanwo-Olu represented by his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, saluted the role played in dogged fight for democracy by the deceased and others, which led to his incarceration for over 18months during a military era in the 90s.
Also, a friend of the late Senator, Prof. Ayo Ogunye, said they had been together for 60 years, noting that his brilliancy and excellent academic performance in school inspired him to be more serious and excel academically.
In a related development, the Ogun State Government has paid a condolence visit to the family of late Chief Babatunde Fadun at his Igbesa residence, describing him as a committed and dedicated party man.
