Little wonder why they are usually the deciding factor of what becomes of our communal, societal, and national politics.
As the election date draws nearer, The chairmanship candidate of All Progressive Congress APC, in Odeda local government, Hon. Folasade Adeyemo Soyinka has engaged all the women leaders and representatives across all the ten wards holding the council in a political discussion at her residence in Obantoko area of Abeokuta.
The meeting was centered around the celebration of the emergence of a woman as the chairmanship candidate of Odeda local government and deliberations on how to work together as a formidable team in the forthcoming poll.
Keynoye speakers like Hon. Mrs. Iyabode Bolu Coker, Hon.Chief Mrs. Mofoluke Soremekun, Hon. Mrs. Asowo, Hon. Mrs. Muinat Olanike Lawal, Hon. Mrs. Atinuke Fasola, Hon. Mrs. Kemi Oseni, Chief Mrs Olaogun (Iron Lady) and the host Hon. Mrs. Folasade Adeyemo among others charged the women to get actively involved in politics in their respective wards and community to enable gender balance in political representation.
The speakers also implored their male counterparts to admit the women to be actively involved in the administration of the people's wellbeing across all the tiers of government at the local, state, and federal levels.
In response to the speaker's address, Hon. Folasade Adeyemo-Soyinka unequivocally stated that there will be no room for divisions in Odeda Local Government Area during her terms in office as she enjoined everyone to shun every form of divisiveness that might have existed in the time past.
Also, She charged all women to ensure they move in mass to be actively involved in the political movement in their respective wards and community, While appreciating all the women for their acceptability, support, love, and trust in her ability to represent the interest of the entire people in Odeda local government.
The meeting also hosted some appearances such as Hon. Commissioner for Teaching Service Commission Hon. Majekodunmi Olanrewaju and Hon. Nurudeen Olayinka(Onade), who appeared to give moral support to the women and quickly admonished them to be the focused and be committed to the development of our heritage.
They also appeals to them to start canvassing votes down to their roots for all APC candidates in the forthcoming election.
In the same vein, The vice chairmanship candidate, Hon. Nasir Yaya Adigun in his short remarks, congratulated all the women most especially, Hon. Folasade Adeyemo, the chairmanship candidate of Odeda local government for the grace God bestowed on her to emerge as the people's choice to lead Odeda people as the principal administrator.
He also calls on everyone to rally around all the APC candidates in Odeda local government in the forthcoming election.
In her closing remarks, Hon. Folasade Adeyemo heap praises on all the leaders of Odeda local government for the role they played so far by entrusting the leadership of Odeda local government to the duo candidacy of Folasade/Adigun as she promised not to let the good people of Odeda down.
She thanked all the leaders present for taking out time to attend to the needs of the ocal government, wished everyone of them a safe trip back to their various destinations.
