The Ogun State House of Assembly through its Committee on Justice, Ethics and Public Petitions today urged the China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) on the need to immediately interface with its host communities in Remo North and Ijebu North Local Government Areas towards putting in place Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects for the benefit of the communities.
The Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Solomon Osho, in company of other honourable members, gave the advice, while mediating in a petition against the Company by the communities at the Assembly's Complex, Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta.
Hon. Osho enjoined the management of the company to ensure wide consultation with the host communities to know their demand before embarking on the CSR to aid the development of the communities.
In their contributions, Honourables Musefiu Lamidi and Akeem Balogun stressed the need close the communication gap between the company and its host communities by ensuring constant interface through the traditional rulers on the need to ensure the implementation of projects that would be beneficial to the communities.
Earlier in his presentation, the CCECC Legal Officer, Mr. Olajide Adesina, revealed that the company had always granted requests made by associations and groups within the communities but promised to immediately commence community engagements for better community relationship.
