NIEEE Ogun Held her 4th AGM, Elects Idowu as Chairman

Engr. Olumayowa Idowu, Chairman, Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) National Statutory Audit Committee has been elected as the Chairman, The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), Ogun state Chapter.

The election which was held during the institute's 4th Annual General Meeting in Abeokuta, also saw Engr. Abolaji Ilori emerged as the Deputy Chairman, Engr. Tolulope Erinoso emerged as the Vice Chairman (Power Engineering Section), Engr. Wale Oguntade as Vice Chairman (Telecommunication and Computer Engineering Section), Engr. Temitope Adegbuyi as Vice Chairman (Instrumentation, Control and Automation Engineering Section) Section while, Engr. Akinola Solanke emerged as General Secretary.

Others elected are Engr. Odumala Tunde as Treasurer, Engr. Monsuru Lamidi as Financial Secretary, Engr. Joseph Odiete as Publicity Secretary, Engr. Oludayo Oluwole as Membership Secretary, Engr. Felix Adegboye, FNIEEE as Immediate Past Chairman.

While speaking, the new Chapter Chairman, Engr. Olumayowa Idowu said “I am honoured to be elected chairman of The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), Ogun state Chapter. Taking the reins of leadership of this foremost body is made easier by the transformational groundwork laid by my predecessors. I would like to thank the outgoing executives for their stewardship of the body over the years”.

"I have worked closely with my predecessor in pursuing our collective vision and building a formidable engineering body. Together with the other executive members I now look forward to the successful implementation of the transformative initiatives which will project NIEEEE better to the global world”.

Aside being recently elected

Chairman, NSE National Statutory Audit Committee at the last National AGM of Nigerian Society of Engineers held in November 2020 at Abuja, Eng. Olumayowa Idowu is also NSE Abeokuta Ex - Officio, 2020 till Date and he was the General Secretary 2018 - 2020.

The Ogun Chapter of the NIEEE was formally inaugurated as the 20th Chapter of the Institute on the 23rd of February, 2017.
