Staffers of the Department of Medicine, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) have honoured the Chief Medical Director of the facility, Prof. Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo with a meritorious award for his exemplary and purposeful leadership.

In his remarks during the presentation of the award, Prof. Fabamwo appreciated the gesture and thoughts that spurred the recognition, stressing that the success recorded so far under his leadership should be attributed to the Grace of God and unflinching support of the management and staff of the hospital.

He said the Department of Medicine is lucky to have a great personality like Dr. Adebowale Adekoya as the HOD, adding that he is doing a good job in introducing dynamic and innovative strategies to make the department function maximally now and in the years to come.

The CMD also applauded Prof. Olugbenga Awobusuyi, Consultant Nephrologist in the department for his immense contribution to the accomplishments of the hospital, stressing that his input and that of others had ensured that the hospital is being run effectively.  

 “The roles of Prof. Olugbenga Awobusuyi and Dr. Adebowale Adekoya, as well as other staff members, have all been instrumental to our successes. I am grateful to each and every one of you. I promise to continue to do my best so that this hospital will continue to excel in all aspects”, the Chief Medical Director said.

Earlier, Prof. Olugbenga Awobusuyi, Consultant Nephrologist, who presented the award on behalf of the Department, appreciated the dedication of the CMD since he took over the leadership of the hospital.

While congratulating him on the award, he stated that Prof. Fabamwo’s purposeful, exemplary and outstanding leadership skills made him worthy of the recognition.
