Ogun State joins in the celebration of the Year 2020 World Food Day tagged “Grow, Nourish, Sustain. Together”. The World Food Day is celebrated by over 150 member nations annually on the 16th October and nations including Nigeria line up activities to commemorate the day.
The Executive Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun, MFR, will officially launch the World Food Day in Ogun State on Friday, 16th October, 2020, at the Arcade Ground, Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan. Other activities lined up include the Flag off of Linkage of additional 1,065 beneficiaries to Central Bank of Nigeria/Ogun State/Nigeria Cassava Growers Association (NCGA) Cassava Anchor Borrowers Programme, Ogun State Farmers Market/Fun Day, Special Presentations and Exhibition Tour of products from partners and stakeholders in the Agriculture and Food Sector in Ogun State, and beyond.
Ogun State Government will continue in its efforts to ensure Food Security and Support to Smallholder Farmers; Job Creation through Agricultural Value Chain Opportunities; Agricultural Industrialization and Linkage of young people/farmers to the industrial process; and Focus on Food and Nutrition through Promotion of Cultivation, Consumption and Business in Nutritious and Biofortified Foods.
