Chairmen of the surviving political parties in Akwa Ibom State have issued Stern warning to the Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Inter-Party Affairs, Mr. Lawrence Udoide to desist from causing disaffection, political unrest among party Chairmen and government of the State.
This formed part of the press statement issued at a media chat by Coalition of Registered Political Party Chairmen in Akwa Ibom State, held at Enikon Hotel, Atiku Abubaka way, Uyo last weekend.
Speaking, the Chairman of Accord Party, Prince Joseph Itiaba who doubled as the Chairman, Advisory Board of Inter-Party Advisory Council of Nigeria,(IPAC) in Akwa Ibom State, accused Mr Udoide of using his position to victimized and marginalised Party Chairmen in the State.

He mentioned that Mr Udoide has allegedly visited the National Chairmen of some surviving political parties in Abuja in a bid to facilitate the replacements of State Chairmen in Akwa Ibom with his people, reiterating that such act will stampede peace and the cordial working relationship between the Akwa Ibom State Governor and Opposition political parties in the State.
The IPAC Advisory Board Chairman assured that any Party Chairman that is replaced through the selfish sentiment of Udoide will be sidelined in the comity of Inter-Party in the State, saying that IPAC in the State will fight the unwholesome attitude of Udoide.
"We were surprised to hear from our respective National Chairmen that Lawrence Udoide whose political party was recently deregistered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is bent on lobbying for the replacement of Party Chairmen in the State with his people. We want him forthwith to desist from such act, that we are ready to resist him at all cost." He said.
"From the aforementioned, we shall also resist such new persons in participating in the upcoming constitution of the Council in the coming weeks. We also warn that the anti-party activities of Mr Udoide in the State shall not oguor well, as this will create more problems instead of solutions." He added.
The IPAC Advisory Board Chairman however called on the National hierarchies of political parties to desist from changing party leaders in the State at this time, noting that those who advocate for such changes did not do well in their deregistered political parties, adding that the perpetrator is doing so for his personal interest to maintain his appointment due to the upcoming local government elections.
Recalled that few months ago, INEC deregistered about 74 political parties who were all members of Inter-Party Advisory Council of Nigeria, leaving behind only 18 parties which now has the sole right and responsibilities to steer the affairs of the Council. An experience the council described as bitter, considering various contributions of those State Chairmen toward the enthronement of the present Government in the State which according to them, they have not benefitted anything due to how the power brokers decided to treat the critical stakeholders who sacrificed for the system to be.
Meanwhile, Mr Lawrence Udoide has been warned to steer clear of IPAC politics as well as victimizing Leaders of political parties as he belongs to no political party in Akwa Ibom State.
All efforts to reach Mr. Lawrence Udoide proved abortive as he refused to take our calls.
