NUJ: Nation Correspondent, Ernest Nwokolo, Fasasi Emerges As New Eecutives Of Ogun Correspondent Chapel

The Correspondent Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State Council has elected the Ogun state correspondent of the Nation newspaper, Comrade Ernest Nwokolo as its new Vice Chairman


 Also, the correspondent of Daily Independent newspaper, Mr Sulaiman Fasasi was elected as the chapel Secretary while Bankole Taiwo of NewsDirect newspaper emerged as the Treasurer of the chapel.

The emergence of the trio was through by-election conducted during a monthly Congress of the chapel which was done to fill the vacant executives  position in the Correspondents' Chapel.

Speaking during the inauguration of the newly elected executives, the Vice Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State Council, Comrade Kunle Olayeni admonished the new exco to be proactive in dealing with members and work towards the upliftment of the chapel.

He said the Correspondents chapel remain the heartbeat of the Union in the State, advising all the executives to work as one.

Also, the Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Wale Adewumi urged the new executives to see their position as a call to service.

He said that in spite of the fact that their tenure is short, but as an executive member, they can still make an impact.

Meanwhile, the Correspondents chapel at its monthly Congress had observed a minute silence in honour of a departed colleague, Adesoji Bisuga, a member the State Information Chapel of the Ogun NUJ, who died on Tuesday.

Also, a minute silence was observed in honour of the father of the Correspondent of The Sun newspaper, Mr Laide Raheem.

Laide's father died on Wednesday, this week.
