Following fears of the spread of Coronavirus, University College Hospital Ibadan in Oyo State, a leading school in Medicine and Nursing Education issued a directive this afternoon 19th March, 2020 to its students to evacuate the school premises pending the outcome of the fight against Coronavirus.

The school has been on since the outbreak of the pandemic last year, till this noon when the Medical Director, Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo gave an ultimatum mandating all medical students, medical laboratory attendants, nurses, doctors, post basic medical students etc to vacate the premises.

Information has it that the institutions task force will be moving around to ensure that the students comply with the directive and ensure total lockdown.

As at the time of writing this report the students were seen moving their things while some who came from outside the Oyo State to study have been given a day grace period to pack their belongings.

This action is in line with the plans of the FG to ensure that most academic institutions are shut down as a means of controlling the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.
