Nigerians have taken to social media to react to the Impeachment of the United States President, Donald Trump.
Trump has now been formally impeached by the House of Representatives, for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
The vote followed weeks of testimony, related to his dealings with Ukraine. 230 to 197 votes in the Democratic-majority House saw to the impeachment of the US president.
He is now the third president in US history to be impeached after Andrew Johnson in 1868 and Bill Clinton in 1998.
His impeachment doesn't mean automatic removal from office as he will still be the president of the United States and should be tried next year at the Senate on the recommendation that he should be removed.
It should be recalled that the two former U.S presidents that were impeached during their tenure never removed they however survived the trial at the Senate.
The trial will be presided over by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
However, some Nigerians have taken to the social media, Twitter, to let their voices out since the news break into the cyberspace.
Here are some of the reactions;

@Adunni_Achebe said, “I don't understand why some Nigerians are so excited about Trump getting impeached?
Did we switch presidents during the night?”
@integrity56 said, “A President Must NOT be allowed to become a Dictator!
Shame on all @nassnigeria members.
Shame on all Nigerians that has continually defended Buhari's disregard for rule of law, imprisonment of journalists and disobedience of court orders.
History will judge you all harshly!”
@mrmanhere_ said, “Why are Nigerians all over this #TrumpImpeachment saga? We still have Buhari ruling us, we still have them wanting to renovate the National Assemblies for N37 billion, we still have sokoto governor wanting to build 189 mosques at N566M.
So why then are we bothered about USA?”
@seyishae said, “Nigerians do the most tbh.. 🤦🏾♀️
The way these false woke peeps are celebrating trump’s impeachment, you’ll think we have a president half as good as trump.
Last time I checked, we have a cruel tyrant as a president and nothing has changed but go on..
We’ll have sense by force.”
@OlabodeLA said, “So Nigerians should not talk about Trump's impeachment because it's not about Nigeria? Trying so hard to sound different kmt.”
@seyishae said, “I came on twitter this morning and everybody is celebrating Trump’s impeachment.
I wasn’t bothered until I started seeing Nigerians tweeting about it with so much excitement.
Like, se wa alright?
Our own president don’t even rate us at all and you’re tweeting “so excited” ?? 🤦🏾♀️”
@small_madam said, “Does Nigerians have any problem with Trump?
Like why are they happy he was impeached?”
