Alhaja Anike Alajogun is one of the ageless actresses rocking Nollywood with fantastic movies. She is the richest and the biggest Veteran Yoruba movie producer in 2019. She is a Nurse by profession and she practice in Manchester City, United Kingdom. The mother of two is also a Textile Merchant with several shops at Gbagi. Her hotel known as Mataan Hotel, located at Olorundaba, Akobo Ojurin, Ibadan, Oyo State is also a force to reckon with in the city.
She is a native of Ilara-Mokin in Ondo state. She is a cousin to Elizade Motors’ boss, High Chief Ade Ojo.
Education for her started at a school in Ondo State where she had her Elementary Education. In 1973, Anike proceeded to Ibadan for her Secondary School Education.
She later went to the school of Catering and Hotel management in Davog School where she got her Diploma in Catering and Hotel management. She got married to her sweetheart, Chief Adisa Joseph Alajogun in 1986,and the marriage is blessed with two wonder kids, Olatomiwa Mathew an Actor cum Musician, and Omobosola Josephine. Alhaja is a proud grandmother of Iremitide Olatemowo Arafa.
On how she began her career in the United Kingdom, the ageless actress’ parents, we learnt relocated to London in the 50s to study and they eventually got married in the city and had their children over there. Shortly after their education, they decided to go back home in the early 60s but Anike later went back to London to reclaim her Nationality.
In the UK, it’s not easy to nurse or train children at the same time if you want the best for them, so Mrs Alajogun started working as a care assistant in 2006. Even till now, she is still working as Care Assistant with NHS.
In 2014, her son, Tomiwa Alajogun ventured into acting and his supporting mum decided to join the industry with him to give him financial and physical support, which prompted Alhaja to be shuttling between UK and Nigeria to produce and features in Nollywood movies because she is passionate about the vacation.
But before then, when Anike met Adrian Adegbite, a Broadcaster in BCOS Ibadan, who happened to be in the same church of CCC with her then, he discovered the talent in her, and began to train her but not quite long she got married and her husband made her to drop acting as a career.
Alhaja Anike Alajogun is a quiet woman who is not purpose despite her achievement in life. And this might be the reason media hardly talk about her.
