The comptroller-General of the Nigeria custom service(NCS),Col. Hammed Ali(Rtd) has vowed to sack any custom officer that lives beyond their earnings or an illicit way to acquire wealth.
He gave the warning while he was decoration some newly promoted custom officers of the service in Abuja on Friday, November 23rd.Recently 2,508 officers were promoted by the service to various ranks and appointed three as members of its management.
Hammed Ali further warned that no custom officer in the service should live above his or her earnings if they still desire to remain in service.
He encourage the newly promoted officers to be more dedicated and commited to their works. Ali enjoined them to uphold the change mantra in the service and be part of the reform being carried out.
The deputy comptroller-General,David Chikan,spoke on behalf of the newly promoted custom officers,thanked the management for their elevation.He assured that they would justify the confidence given to them.
