Arsenal, Janni Arnth Signs For Italian Club

Arsenal Women defender Janni Arnth has left the Women’s Super League champions to sign for Italian side Fiorentina. The Denmark international, 32, joined Arsenal in November from Swedish club Linkopings, making 10 appearances for Joe Montenurro’s side.



Arsenal released an official statement on their website to announce the departure of Arnth.


“Denmark international Janni Arnth is set to join Italian team Fiorentina in a permanent move,” the club stated on their website.


“Janni joined us from Swedish side Linkopings in November 2018 and departs north London having made 10 appearances for us, scoring on her FA Women’s Super League debut against West Ham United.

“The defender leaves Arsenal having helped us win our first WSL title in seven years. She also featured in Joe Montemurro’s side as we were narrowly defeated by Manchester City the in Continental Tyres Cup final at Bramall Lane in February. Everyone at the club thanks Janni for her contribution and professionalism during her time at Arsenal and wishes her all the best in the future.”


Arnth scored on her WSL debut and played in Arsenal’s League Cup final defeat by Manchester City. She could face Arsenal as early as next month, with the London club to play Fiorentina in the Champions League.
