Most Chelsea fans may get what they badly wanted afterall as Juventus are reported to have reached an agreement with Maurizio Sarri for a return to Italy.
However, a final decision won’t be made until after the Champions League final.
The Italian giants are in the market for a new manager following Massimiliano Allegri’s decision to step down.
Juve are keen on Sarri, who had a mixed debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea came close to sacking him following a mid-season blip, but he turned it around, guiding them to a third-place finish and both the Carabao Cup and Europa League final.
But some fans are still concerned about his playing style, which he may struggle to improve on if their transfer ban appeal is unsuccessful.
Juve are keen to bring him back to Italy, paving the way for Derby boss Frank Lampard to seal a romantic return to Chelsea.
However, the Old Lady are not ready to commit to Sarri until after Liverpool and Tottenham meet in Madrid this weekend.
According to Calciomercato, Juventus are interested in both Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino.
Both managers are targeting their first trophy since arriving in England.
And the outcome of the Champions League final could have an impact on their respective futures.
Pochettino suggested earlier this month that he could quit Spurs if he can lead them to European glory while Klopp may consider going out on a high following a spectacular season with the Reds.
Calciomercato claim Juve will target Pochettino if Spurs win.
Reports had previously suggested Sarri would be unveiled following Chelsea’s clash with Arsenal in Wednesday’s Europa League final.
But the Italian may have to wait while Juventus explore their options.
Lampard is expected to replace him if he goes and the former midfielder will hold talks regarding his future with Derby chiefs this week.
