The Nigerian Police, Ogun State command in its bid to bring sanity to the state from the hands of criminals has arrested a man (31) identified as Jolly Gilbert after so many years of parading himself as a soldier in Ogijo area of Ogun State.

The ugly incident was a surprised to the people of Ogijo that a young man, who had been parading himself as a soldier is,after all, nothing but an impostor.
He was discovered and arrested during a raid of criminal hideouts and black spots at Eyin Ogbe area of Ogijo today, Sunday 5, 2019.

Disclosing this in a press release made available to our reporter, the Command's Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, stated that Gilbert, who was during the said bursting of one of the criminal hideouts, in a military camouflage shirt, stood his ground that he was a serving soldier with the 174 Battalion of the Nigerian Army (NA).

However, apparently sniffing deceit and lie in his claim, the Ogun State Police Command raised a signal to the said Battalion, to authenticate his claim, only for the reply to portray him as an impostor.

Found in his possession were, according to the PPRO, a Nigerian Army identify card in his name and picture, a Jack knife, military hardware and assorted charms.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bashir Makama, had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for further investigation and prosecution of the suspect.
