Tragedy hit the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) recently as it one of its senior officers in Badagry, Lagos state. the incident which occurred on Tuesday, April 9, had the officer, Abba Abubakar, stung and killed by a swarm of bees as he was carrying out his duties
– Described as a diligent officer until his death, Abubakar who is a native of Yobe state, was survived by wife and children
Premium Times reported that Abba Abubakar, a high ranking officer of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) was on Tuesday, April 9, stung and killed by a swarm of bees in the Ashipa area of Badagry in Lagos state.
Speaking on Wednesday, April 10, on Abubakar’s death, Saidu Abdullahi, the spokesman of the Seme command, said: “With sadness and deep sorrow, the Seme Area Command announces the death of our colleague CSC Abba, A.”

“The sad event occurred yesterday due to an attack by a swarm of bees around Ashipa axis, Lagos- Badagry Expressway.
“We pray that Allah (SWT) shower His mercy and grant him the highest level of Jannah, and give his family the patience and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Aameen.”

The Yobe native was survived by his wife and children. Abdullahi described him as a diligent officer. He said: “He has never failed to report at his duty post daily. We regret to lose such a gallant officers.” Abubakar has been buried according to the ordinance of the Islamic rites.

Meanwhile, it was reported that the NCS on Sunday, February 17, explained the situation that degenerated into the killing of a citizen of the country at the Shagamu interchange along Ijebu Ode area of Ogun state earlier in the day.

The agency denied the reports that trended earlier in the day showing that one of its officers killed a passenger for refusing to give bribe.

In the video that trended, the voice of a passenger could be heard screaming and saying the victim was killed because of N5,000 which the customs officers at the interchange demanded and which led to an altercation.
