Super Falcons forward, Desire Oparanozie, showed great talent during a friendly match between the Nigeria women’s national team and their counterparts from Canada in Spain as preparations for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup holding later this year in France continues.
Oparanozie latched on to a defence-splitting pass from Uchenna Kanu before sending an onrushing Canada defender sprawling on the field in the penalty area with a brilliant first touch before sending a low strike into the bottom corner to give Nigeria the lead after 26 minutes.

Three minutes before the opener, Rita Chikwelu had a great chance to actually open scoring for the Super Falcons at the Pinatar Arena in Murcia, but the 31-year-old midfielder saw her goal-bound effort saved by McLeod in the Canada goal.
Having started the game on the front foot, the Super Falcons gave up control of the ongoing friendly encounter, with Canada getting the equaliser just three minutes into the second half through Beckie Janine before Schmidt put Canada ahead with a 53rd minute header.
