Hon. Prince Adedipe Dauda Ewenla, MD and CEO of Adedas development Foundation, candidate of People's Democratic Party PDP, Lagos State House of assembly in the March 2019 election has described his 37-days detention in the cell by the former commissioner of police, Imohimi Edgal, as politically motivated and handwork of his political enemies and opponents which he said to be All Progressive Party APC.
According to Prince Adedipe, several chieftain in the ruling party has contacted him to step down his aspiration even before his primary election in his party because he has large crowd and control of the electorate based on his philanthropic gesture to his community through his foundation.
"In Nigeria, everybody has the right to contest under any political party of his choice, but it seems that in Lagos state, it’s a crime to be a member of opposition party, that was my offence and only reason I was detained and dehumanized for the crime I did not committed said Prince Adedipe."
"My wife was detained for nine days while I was in detention for thirty seven days unlawfully after my appearance before the OC SARS, Ikeja Police Command, all because I wanted to represent my good people of Alimosho Constituency 01 at the Lagos State House of assembly under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). My dream and ambition to do this was murdered by Edgar and his sponsors which I strongly believe they are APC."
"I don’t know why former Lagos State Commissioner, Edgahi, was determined to nail and destroy my hard earned name at all cost for the offence I know nothing about... I want to ask him if he was former commissioner of police in Lagos for everybody or for certain political party? Prince Adedipe Added."
While speaking with pressmen, Prince Adedipe said he was so sure the former CP. Imohimi Edgar was sponsored and used by his political opponents to link him with pipeline vandalization that occurred at Abule-Egba in December to stop him from winning the constituency, after the ruling party has offered him a whooping sum of money ( N20m) which he rejected.
Also, he said one Supervisor in Alimosho Local Government approached him shortly before his predicament to drop his ambition with One Hundred and Twenty (120) slots for his people to be put on a payroll of Twenty Thousands Naira monthly which he rejected because he knows his plan for his electorate is beyond N20,000 for selected people.

"He put my name in google and you tube as a criminal while those vandals arrested said I was not part of them, but he was very smart in carrying out his devilish and image destroyed act, he did not parade me among the arrested vandals, I know my unlawful detention is characterised by political undertone.. I know Almighty God will judge everybody behind my detain for the offence I did not committed."

When asked what steps he is willing to take after all this challenge he faces all because he wanted to represent his good people at the Alimosho state constituency of the house of assembly, he said he cannot share with the pressmen.
