President Buhari nominates Ooni of Ife brother as ambassador

President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated Prince Abimbola Adegboyega Ogunwusi as a potential ambassador for Nigeria.

Prince Adegboyega is the elder brother of the Ooni of Ife, Alayeluwa Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II and he is the representative of Osun state in the list.
He is also the Sooko Laekun of Ile Ife. The holder of the title of Sooko Laekun is the coordinator of princes and default representative of the Ooni.

The office became vacant late last year with the demise of Prince Dapo Sijuwade, which made the Ooni appoint him to the revered position on Saturday, October 8.
Prince Adegboyega is an alumnus of the University of Ibadan. He is a top businessman with interests in diverse sector among which are property, construction, farming and mining.
A former employee of Access Bank, Prince Adegboyega relocated abroad for a while before coming back to start investing in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, majority of senators voted to disapprove of the nominees in the Senate, until the intervention of Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who vetoed their decision.
