Death Strikes Again As Yoruba Movie Industry Mourns – DETAILS

Too many deaths, heavy tears, that has been the story of Nollywood since January 3rd 2019 as we have deaths of celebrities and their loved ones. Joining the list of bereaved celebrities, top Yoruba Movie Marketer, Kola Fashina has lost his beloved father. More details below.

According to Yoruba movies gist, One of the top Yoruba Movie Marketers in Arena, Oshodi, Lagos, Kola Fashina, who is the Chairman of Small World Productions has lost his father.

Alhaji Muftau Adeniyi Fashina aka Pa Fashina who slept in the Lord last weekend was a Community and Political leader at Idi Oro Area of Mushin Local Government,  Lagos State He was aged 90.


In a statement released by the family, the Ake, Abeokuta, Ogun State-born property manager passed on at his Lagos house at 3, Labinjo Court, near Eko Boys High School, Mushin, Lagos on Saturday June 8, 2019 after a brief illness. He was a devout Muslim during his lifetime, Alhaji Muftau Fashina was laid to rest in his country home at Sabo, Abeokuta.

Pa Fashina was said to be a proud graduate of St. Patrick’s Catholic School, Ebute Meta, Lagos. For several decades, he was known as one of the most popular Property Managers in Mushin, through his company,  M.A. Fashina and Brothers. For many decades, the deceased was the Secretary, Vice Chairman and member of the Ewe Agbigbo and Masewele Community Development Associations in Mushin.

Alhaji Muftau Fashina was also the Treasurer for the defunct Action Group,  Alliance For Democracy and Action Congress of Nigeria within his Masewele Community in Lagos State. He is survived by a wife, brothers, sisters and many children among whom is a former National Vice President of Association of Movie Content Owners and Producers/Distributors of Nigeria, Mr. Kola Rafiu Fashina.

Joining the list of bereaved was also singer, Adekunle Gold who recently lost his father. The singer who is married to Simi Gold buried his father amidst tears and sorrow.

While others have mourned, thankfully some others have managed to evade death. Celebrities such as Yul Edochie, Uche Jombo, Jim Iyke, Nonso Diobi, Regina Daniels, Jide Kosoko and Kate Henshaw have had close encounters with death and are glad to be alive and strong enough to tell the story.
